The Math Every Day Blog Finds a New Home!

Welcome Back to Math Every Day!

Math Every Day is in the process of relocating from an older blog site to this shiny new one. All good things take time, and blogs are no exception, especially when you're learning as you go. So if you find some goofs or know a better way of doing, well, just about anything you find here, please don't be shy—it's always a great day when I learn something from my readers!

In the meantime...

Come on inside. There's lots to do! Math Every Day exists for one reason only: to convince the world that, if you un-learn all of the monotonous, complicated, and mechanical mathematics you were taught in school, then what's left is simple, intuitive, easy, and fun.

You may be just learning basic math. Or you may be struggling to help your child with math homework that would make more sense if it had been written in Martian. Or maybe you've already learned math with your head and are realizing that your gut is much better at understanding—really understanding—just about everything.

My Promise to You

I promise that you can learn all the math I've learned so far—from number theory through geometry and trigonometry, from algebra to calculus—without breaking a sweat; that it will actually make sense to you in the same way it makes sense to snuggle a child; and that you'll probably¹ have fun while you're here.

If you have a question about anything you see at Math Every Day, or if you'd like to see an article about a particular topic, please leave a comment. I depend on your feedback to guide me through the various topics: they all make sense to me, but the only way I'll know if they make sense to you is if you tell me. So please let me know what you enjoyed and what could stand improvement.

Whatever your age or situation, please check your baggage at the door, kick off your work shoes, relax, and have fun!

__________
¹ Ok, you've got me there: probability may be the single exception to the "makes sense to your gut" promise. Probability has its own rules, and it's the most counter-intuitive branch of math I've come across. I don't know that probability truly makes sense to anyone, but I do know a few good ways to explain it, as well as some truly fascinating examples.
